The Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Granada hosts BAG 4th, the fourth edition of its International Art Festival in collaboration with the Vice-Rectorade for Internationalisation of the University of Granada.

BAG 4th is an annual event which promotes and provides meetings and artistic investigations made by both teachers and students incoming or outgoing related with the different existing exchange programmes offered by the University of Granada.

The chosen topic for this edition will be the dichotomy between Home and Place, so related to mobilities. We start with the project BAG 4th: INCOMING – OUTGOING STUDENTS: HOME/PLACE, inviting incoming and outgoing students from the FBBAA UGR to reflect on the different views, nuances and ways of understanding a home and a place, raising questions such as the following: What is the difference between a home and a place? From when do you start to feel a foreign country as your home? What routines, food or small details make you feel a place as home? What does a place look like that could never be home?

Each incoming student’s reflections are sent to an outgoing student and vice versa, drawing on them to create the videos that explore the perspectives activated and shared during the mobilities, which collectively build a sense of belonging to a place and a culture.

These video-creations where launched virtually on November the 23rd, on this web plastform & the Faculty’s youtube channel, where they will remain from now on registered for everyone to enjoy. On November the 30th we again host in these platforms an online screening of the full video combining all creations in one single piece.

The participating artists have been; Ana Espigares, Bea Cano, Cristina Chiarroni, Elena Lechuga Borrero, Emanuele Ceccarelli, Eva Jiménez Malagón, Isabella Besutti (Daparte), Juana Hernández, Lucía García González, y Yunuen Rosas Ortiz (Ryo).

The following mobility destinations linked to the UGR are or have been their homes: Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino, Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona, Facultade de Belas Artes de Pontevedra, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universitat de Barcelona, University of Arts Poznán, Université Paris 8 Vincennes Saint Denis.

The BAG 4th Festival will complete its internationalisation proposal with other meetings and investigations that will be exposed throughout the academic year 2019/20 by the realization of different exhibitions and publications, united by the idea of the cultural artistic interchange.
